Who He Was – Discovering Who Jesus Christ Really Was In The Gospel Of Mark

Few things fire imaginations like ancient Egypt’s fabled buried treasures, golden tombs and King Tut. That’s why this week the world of ancient history and archaeology was stunned by what is hailed as the greatest discovery of the century. Archaeologists have found two hidden passageways, off the fabled tomb of King Tut.

God’s Reminder To Us: Keep Your Eyes On Jesus

Revelation is God lifting the lid off of Christ, or pulling back the wrapping paper on something very special about Jesus, but not yet fully seen or known. That is what the first word of this book says.

So, chapter 1 is God holding out for us: What Jesus is doing right now.

Chapters 2-3 are God showing us what Jesus sees in His Church.

Chapters 4-22 are what God wants us to know about His plans for the future.

Each of these sections of Revelation is a disclosure and an unveiling of things not yet fully seen, or even really understood.

When Jesus told His disciples and us about the future he built every word of it around one spot on earth (Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21). Jesus framed His words about the rest of the history of this planet by the sight of Jerusalem in all its earthly glory spread in front of Him.

Look again at Christ’s very first words in Matthew 24:2. All that He says about His second coming is introduced by those words. He said keep your eye on Jerusalem. I am ascending from the Mount of Olives (the center of Jerusalem then and now) and I am returning to the Mount of Olives.
