“Hears” means that the goal was to block any other voices, activities, or events—and tune into listening to God’s message. Like putting on your headphones or air pods and tuning out everything but one sound at a time, for your brain to process. The key is to FOCUS on God’s message each day until you get it. Finally, we come to the word “keeps”. This is when we go from merely being a hearer but now a doer. The word means to guard like a treasure. When we realize God’s Word is a TREASURE, we hold onto it tightly. Paul described this in 1 Timothy 4:6-16
